Updated: Sep 26, 2023

Dear Handball Enthusiasts,

Welcome to the Singapore Handball Federation's newsletter for 2023! We're thrilled to share with you the latest updates and highlights from the past year.

Here are some of the key events and achievements that took place in 2022:

  • The year kicked off with the 31st South East Asian Games, where teams from all over South East Asia competed for the championship.

  • In August, the Inaugural Pesta Sukan was a great success, featuring a variety of handball competitions for both men and women. It was a wonderful opportunity for players to showcase their talents and connect with other handball enthusiasts in the community.

  • In September, we were thrilled to host the Singapore University Games in 2022, which saw teams from universities across Singapore come together to compete in handball. The tournament provided a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their talents and passion for the sport.

  • In October, the Solidarity Cup was a local tournament that brought together passionate teams to compete in handball for the facilitation of the referee course. The HFS Referee Course provided valuable training for referees looking to improve their knowledge and skills in handball. The course was a great success and helped us build a stronger pool of referees for future tournaments and competitions.

  • In November, the SEHAF Beach Handball Championship was an exciting event featuring top-level competition in beach handball. It was a great opportunity for players to showcase their skills and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Southeast Asia. The Asian Continental Beach Handball Referee Course was another important initiative aimed at improving the quality of referees in the sport of beach handball.

  • Before ending the year of 2022, the Singapore Handball Open Tournament was a major event on the handball calendar, attracting teams from around the region to compete in a high-level competition. It was a great opportunity for the national players to showcase their skills and build connections with other teams and players.

  • Throughout the year, HFS continued to invest in outreach programs to promote handball in schools, universities, and communities across Singapore. Our programs include clinics, workshops, and other activities aimed at getting more people involved in the sport and building a stronger handball community in Singapore.

Looking ahead, HFS is excited to continue growing and developing the sport of handball in Singapore. We will be organizing more events and activities in the coming year, and we encourage everyone to get involved and support the sport.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for handball in Singapore. We look forward to a great 2023!

Best regards,

Handball Federation Singapore
